Terracon is a 100 percent employee-owned firm of engineers, scientists and consultants headquartered in Olathe, Kansas. It traces its roots to 1965, when Gerald Olson opened Soil Testing Services of Iowa. Its service lines are environmental, facilities, geotechnical and materials. Its industrial hygiene and occupational safety work includes OSHA compliance surveys, silica exposure control, mold assessments, noise surveys and hearing protection programs, confined space evaluations, lockout/tagout and on-site health and safety management. The firm says it has 22 Certified Industrial Hygienists and 13 Certified Safety Professionals on staff, and more than 8,000 employees in more than 200 locations nationwide.
