  2. Extension Ladders: Extension ladders are straight ladders that can be extended to reach greater heights. They're designed to lean against a stable surface and are perfect for outdoor work, such as roof repairs or cleaning gutters.
  3. Platform Ladders: These ladders are similar to step ladders but have a broad platform at the top, providing a safe and comfortable standing area. They're handy for tasks requiring a steady hand and extended duration, such as window washing or wall sanding.

  • Step Ladders are great for indoor use where stability is guaranteed. However, they shouldn't be used for very high tasks since their height is fixed. Climbing on the top cap or beyond the second highest rung can lead to instability and falls.

  3. Consider the height: Make sure the ladder is tall enough for you to comfortably reach your work without standing on the top rungs or overreaching.
