Novus Fuels provides technical and commercial advisory services to clients in the energy and resources sector. The company focuses on transforming environmental liabilities into valuable assets and enabling low-emissions fuel pathways. With operations spread across remote and rural regions, Novus supports clients through specialized expertise and a future-focused approach to fuel innovation.

SafetyIQ has allowed Novus to empower the workforce through a system of trust and embed personal accountability for safety. It has allowed Novus employees to go to and come home from work safely each day.
SafetyIQ introduced a centralized journey management platform that gave Novus real-time visibility over workers traveling long distances in isolated areas. Employees can easily plan routes, complete risk assessments, and check in at scheduled intervals, ensuring a consistent and proactive safety process. Automated alerts and escalations reduced response times in potential emergencies and strengthened communication across geographically dispersed teams. This transformation created a safer, more accountable culture and improved how Novus monitors field operations.
Novus Fuels’ workforce often traveled alone across remote, rural regions, creating significant safety risks and limited visibility for managers. Existing manual tools—paper forms and spreadsheets—were reactive and unable to track workers effectively in real time. As travel demands increased, managers needed better insight into worker movements and faster ways to identify potential risks. The company wanted a proactive, technology-driven solution that supported continuous communication and improved emergency response capabilities.

Novus implemented SafetyIQ’s journey management solution to centralize travel planning, route mapping, check-in scheduling, and risk assessments. Workers complete pre-journey risk evaluations, with low-risk trips approved automatically and medium- to high-risk journeys flagged for managerial review. Predefined check-ins, paired with automated escalations, ensure managers are notified immediately if a worker misses a checkpoint. This system significantly improved visibility, risk awareness, and the overall safety net for Novus’ mobile workforce.
SafetyIQ helped Novus create a more proactive safety culture, encouraging workers to plan ahead, assess risks, and travel more responsibly. Managers gained clearer oversight of remote employee movements, enabling faster support and more informed decision-making during potential emergencies. Employees reported feeling safer knowing their progress was monitored and support was always available. With journey management embedded successfully, Novus is now evaluating additional SafetyIQ modules to expand its safety program.
