Epiroc is a global leader in drilling and excavation equipment, supporting surface and underground mining operations in more than 150 countries. The company specializes in advanced automation, digital mining technologies, and traffic management solutions for some of the world’s largest resource operators. With major manufacturing hubs across North America, Europe, and Asia—and 17 service centers in Australia—Epiroc maintains a strong presence in key mining regions.

The challenge was making sure supervisors and managers knew their people were safe. Employees are situated in various locations across the country. SafetyIQ supported the company by relieving the pressure on supervisors to make many calls to check-in with employees daily.
SafetyIQ introduced an automated Working From Home module that replaced Epiroc’s manual call-in system and made daily safety check-ins simple for remote employees. Workers now receive reminders to confirm their status, while supervisors view real-time updates through a central dashboard. The system eliminated reliance on memory-based processes and reduced the administrative load created by rapid remote-work expansion. This shift helped Epiroc maintain duty-of-care standards during a period of significant operational disruption.
